Nebius Platform onboarding: Sign-Up, Verification, and Lifecycle Management
1. Account Onboarding & Verification
Nebius supports immediate developer onboarding through a structured, self-service model.
- Account Types: Both “Individual” and “Corporate” billing accounts are natively supported.
- Authentication: Seamless integration with Google, GitHub, and Microsoft OAuth providers.
- Verification Process: Requires country of residence, billing address, and a valid credit/debit card.
- Fraud Prevention: A $25 verification fee is charged upon card submission. This serves as the primary KYC (Know Your Customer) check and is immediately credited back to the account balance. [1]
2. Infrastructure Availability & Cost Lifecycle
The platform provides flexible deployment options tailored to both on-demand and persistent workloads.
- Billing Model: On-demand instances are billed on a per-second basis with no long-term contractual commitments.
- Lifecycle State Transitions:
- Stopped Instances: Halting an instance stops compute charges but introduces a standard OS and driver boot-up delay (typically 30–90 seconds) upon restart.
- Running Instances: Maintaining a live instance eliminates “cold start” latency entirely, ensuring inference endpoints remain instantly available.
3. Architecture Recommendations for Scaleability and IaC
To simulate a robust enterprise environment and avoid latency bottlenecks during live demonstrations or production deployments, adhere to the following infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles:
Scalability: Leverage auto-scaling groups or managed Kubernetes node pools to balance cost-efficiency with zero-latency response times.
Persistence Strategy: Critical inference nodes must remain operational rather than being manually stopped and started.
Automation: Use Pulumi or Terraform to manage resource lifecycles dynamically.
